APPLICATION OF INTERNET OF THINGS IN DRUG SUPPLY CHAIN COUPLING INFORMATION TRANSMISSION

　　As a special industry, drug industry has always beenhighly concerned by governments and customers.
　　Especially the number of crimes on drugs has largely increased in recent years. It has not only caused significantlosses to the government and enterprises but also seriouslythreatened the customers¨ life. So currently, drug industryhas faced great challenges. In order to promote the healthydevelopment of drug industry, new technologies must beused to realize the visual management of drugs. Internet ofthings makes it possible for drug supply chain coupling enterprisesto record information of drugs that governments andcustomers are concerned about. Therefore, internet ofthings is a good solution to the problems in drug supplychain. Figure 5 shows the application model of internet ofthings in drug supply transmission chain.
　　While off product line, drugs are attached RFID tagswith EPC. Other drug-related information, such asmanufactures, production date, production batches andguarantee period can be stored in tags or EPC-IS databases.
　　Since drugs have been identified by EPC codes,enterprises can query and update drugs information takingEPC codes as the keywords. Through internet of things,drugs information in supply chain sprockets can be transmitted intime as shown in Figure 4. Just as shown in Figure 6,customers can also benefit from internet of things.
　　Drugs querying terminals equipped at hospitals ordrugstores are client terminals that are used for customersto query drugs information. RFID readers and ALE serversare equipped in these terminals. As drugs with RFID tagsinto the magnetic field of the drug querying terminal, EPCinformation will be read and processed. Then the drugsinformation customers concerned will be queried with theservice of local ONS and root ONS. Finally, according tothe returned information, customers can distinguishthe drugs who want to buy are real or counterfeit.
　　Benefits of the application of internet of things indrug industry are obvious. Customers can protect theirown rights from being infringed. Once some kind of Afound having quality problems, manufactures canaccurately recall these drugs in time.
